Joel W. Sambursky founded Liberty Wealth Management in 2012 during his fifth year as a LPL Financial Advisor. Before becoming a LPL Financial Advisor, Joel became the youngest Executive Director in the history of the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce while completing his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University in 2007. Joel received his Bachelor's’ degree in Finance in 2005. Joel holds his Series 7 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial and is passionate about helping his clients pursue their financial goals and objectives.
Teamwork, leadership, and competition, are important qualities in Joel’s life. As Southern Illinois University’s quarterback from 2002-2005, he led the Salukis to three straight conference championships and NCAA National playoff appearances, played in an unprecedented 49 consecutive games, became the first Saluki to be voted the “Toughest Saluki” for four straight years by his teammates, and set many Saluki quarterback records.
When he is not in the office, Joel, an avid outdoorsman, loves hunting, running, hiking, and any opportunity to get outside and enjoy the world’s beauty. Joel serves the southern Illinois community as a member of the Southern Illinois University Board of Trustees and was previously on the board of directors for the Carbondale Community Arts. Joel is also a past president of the board of directors for the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce. Joel is married to Samantha, who was a four year letter winner for the Saluki Women’s Golf Program. Joel and Samantha have a daughter Laney, son Jase, and a newborn daughter Josephine.
Connor H. James joined the Liberty Wealth Management team in December of 2013 as an Insurance Specialist. While attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale he received a Bachelor's’ degree in Kinesiology (2011) and a Masters’ degree in Sports Administration (2012). He is recognized by the National Insurance License Registry and is licensed in the state of Illinois as a life and health insurance producer. Connor is dedicated to serving the clients of Liberty Wealth in areas of Life, Long Term Care, and Disability Insurance. He aims to offer our clients the all-encompassing service that they deserve.
While playing linebacker for the Saluki’s from 2007 to 2011, Connor was a part of two conference championship teams and made three NCAA postseason appearances. His teammates voted him the Special Teams Player of the Year in 2010 and the Harry Bobbitt Spirit Award winner in 2011. Connor puts an unprecedented value on the amazing relationships he continues to develop with his clients, former teammates, and Saluki Football supporters.
Connor is married to his college sweetheart, Megan James. She is currently the HR Manager at Liberty Village of Marion. When Connor is not spending time with Megan he can usually be found mentoring young men in Southern Illinois. He has coached high school football for the Marion Wildcats (2012) and the Elverado-Trico Falcons (2013). In the fall Connor can be found pacing the sidelines as he is a broadcaster for Saluki Football.

James T. Noonan
James T. Noonan started as an intern at Liberty Wealth Management in January, 2016 and officially became a member of the team in August, 2016 as a Client Services Associate. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, which he earned at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in May, 2016. He also completed supplementary coursework in finance, including an independent study on the topic of investment-portfolio management under Dr. Xiaoxin Beardsley. James possesses a strong desire to attend to client needs and to assist the Liberty Wealth Team in providing extraordinary service.
Prior to attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale, James ran track and cross-country at Rend Lake College for 2 years with a team of highly talented, international athletes. He gained membership to SIUC’s Saluki Student Investment Fund (SSIF) in 2014, where he filled multiple leadership roles and competed in several financial analysis competitions. James considers himself extremely fortunate to have been a part of such organizations and is sincerely proud of what his former teammates and fund members continue to accomplish.
As an active individual, James enjoys running, mountain-biking, hiking, reading, and spending succeed and experiencing all that life has to offer.
